Personality: If you were to ask someone meeting Rhett for the first time, they would describe him as a quiet, stoic sort of person. However, you ask the same question of his family, or band mates, and they would tell you just about the opposite. He's not quick to trust people. In his mind, someone has to prove themselves, and pass his inspection, before he can say whether they are worth speaking to, or not. Once you move past that, you'll find him to be a very laid back guy, who enjoys having a good time, goofing off, and playing music. Ever the Southern gentlemen, Rhett can be quite the charmer, when a lady catches his eye. He also makes one hell of a friend as well. He's deeply loyal, loving, and protective. You fuck with those he cares about, he's gonna fuck with you in return.
Personal Background: He was born on a cool March morning, in the throbbing city of New Orleans. Rhett Brian Davis was the starting point, for the family, which his parents had always hoped for. Having married late in life, Robert, and Evelyn were a bit concerned, that having children was beyond them. They owned, and ran a Cajun restaurant, and bar, in the French Quarter, for three years, before Rhett was born. Wishing to have a well established business under them, before having children. For years, the family operated the small, but popular eatery, while living in a large apartment, above the buisness.
Rhett became accustomed to the dull sound of music playing, while he slept at night. It became almost like white noise, and in fact, he still finds it difficult to sleep without music playing softly in the background. This familiarity with music, and musicians peaked Rhett's interest at an early age. When he wasn't at school, or the music lessons, which he begged his parents for, he'd sit around in the restaurant, playing the piano for the small lunch, and afternoon crowds they had. It was decided early on, that his future rested with music, for which he had a natural talent. Luckily, his parents agreed, and encouraged his interest.
All through out high school, he played in various bands through out the city, but none every went any where, so to say. They rarely do. But, he had never played in the hopes of receiving fame, or riches. He played, because it was something that he loved, and... well, it got him plenty of ass. It was a good life style all around. The lifestyle came with other perks as well. Drugs, and alcohol. Though, neither played a huge impact in his life. He'd enjoy a beer with his pals, or smoke a joint here, and there. However, he did take to smoking. A horrible habit he still carries to this day.
After completing high school, he moved to Nashville, with a close friend of his. The two planned to start a band, in the thriving mouth of the city, where so many they admired became great. However, the dream did not happen right away. In fact, he played small gigs, while working as a cars salesmen, for a couple of years. Nothing seemed to pan out. Even after his best friend returned to New Orleans, he stuck around, unwilling to give up. Which would eventually pay off, once he hooked up with the right band.
While playing with another group, at a night club in Nashville, he was able to watch the other performers. One which caught his attention, was Ada Crowe. She reminded him a lot of himself at that age, fresh in town, and looking for a bit of fame. He was drawn to her talent, and the part of himself, which he saw in her. The two eventually formed their own band, and began playing the town together. It seemed to be a good mix, the two hit it off, became quick friends, and started having quite a bit of success. Though it was a slow process, it was never an over night kinda thing. The group toured for many years together, again enjoying the rock star life style, some more so than others. Rhett held place as the grounded one, he kept everyone in check, and in place. Though, his word wasn't always solid, and some slipped between his fingers. It was on a return visit to the U.S., that Ada suffered a horrific injury, and had to leave them. Seeing that they'd been friends for so long, Rhett was obviously confused, and worried. It was only after a time of correspondence, that he learned the truth about Ada, and where she had gone.
Every kid, had seen the wolf man, and every kid knew it was all bullshit. Rhett believed his friend to be insane, how else would he explain the way she was acting? That didn't stop his curiosity about what she claimed to be. There had to be a reason she was going on about this were thing. So, he began to do a bit of research of his own. After helping his family relocate to north of his birth city, due to the damage their home, and business suffered in the floods, Rhett began his search for information on the weres. He encountered quite a few expected leads, the folklore, that type of stuff. Others proved to be dead, or worthless.
One however, would prove to have a ragging, and angry pulse, who didn't appreciate Rhett's snooping. The man, who turned out to be a rather angry, and aggressive were, arranged for the two to meet at his home in the country one evening. The evening happened to fall on a full moon. The old were, who had become quite bitter, wanted to give Rhett the scare of his life. As the saying goes, you can't truly understand something, until you've experienced it yourself. Rhett was attacked the moment he set foot outside of his truck. With what strength he had, he was able to escape in his vehicle, driving as far as he could, before passing out, due to blood loss. He awoke the next morning in the hospital. After spending a few nights there, he was approached by a scout from Halcyon, apparently sent by the were who had attacked him. It seemed the old were didn't want him returning to him, for some sort of guidance. Best to leave it to those willing to teach a proper lesson. After experiencing his first change, on the previous full moon, and without warning Ada ahead of time, Rhett agreed to attend the school, having the strongest interest to learn about this were stuff, from a proper source.
